Dell AX Engineer – Microsoft Azure Local / Dell AX Infrastructure

Location: Norfolk, VA (Onsite)

Clearance Requirement: Active Top Secret Clearance Required (No sponsorship - MUST have a current/active TS clearance, or higher

Salary Range: $155,000–$185,000 annually

We are seeking a highly skilled Dell AXEngineer to support a complex infrastructure environment focused on Dell AX systems and Microsoft Azure Local technologies. This role requires a technically experienced professional who can provide deep platform expertise, manage lifecycle activities, coordinate across multiple vendors, and ensure infrastructure platforms remain current, supported, and aligned with future technology direction.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Azure Local lifecycle management, Dell integrated infrastructure solutions, hybrid cloud platforms, and enterprise infrastructure operations.

Position Responsibilities

• Own and support Microsoft Azure Local lifecycle management activities across Dell AX infrastructure environments.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute platform upgrades, updates, and maintenance activities.
• Manage Dell AX platform lifecycle activities, including version alignment, compatibility validation, and supportability assessments.
• Evaluate and validate Dell AX system compatibility with Microsoft Azure Local releases.
• Collaborate with Dell, Microsoft, and third-party technology partners to resolve integration challenges and support platform requirements.
• Monitor Microsoft Azure Local roadmap developments and assess potential impacts to existing Dell-supported solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation, operational procedures, upgrade runbooks, and support guides.
• Create and maintain support matrices covering Azure Local versions, Dell hardware configurations, firmware, drivers, and validated environments.
• Identify lifecycle risks, version dependencies, and support gaps while providing recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support testing activities, change management processes, release readiness, and new feature adoption.
• Provide technical guidance regarding infrastructure supportability, interoperability, and lifecycle best practices.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal teams.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure Local lifecycle activities.
• Strong knowledge of Dell AX systems supporting Microsoft Azure Local.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in complex, multi-vendor environments.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure Local architecture, releases, lifecycle management, and roadmap direction.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, including:
• Upgrade procedures
• Operational guides
• Support documentation
• Validation matrices
• Ability to assess and document interoperability across:
• Infrastructure platforms
• Hardware configurations
• Firmware versions
• Software releases
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams and vendors.
• Ability to independently manage technical projects and drive tasks through completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Dell integrated systems, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), or hybrid cloud platforms.
• Experience supporting Microsoft lifecycle guidance and release management processes.
• Background with interoperability testing and infrastructure change management.
• Knowledge of firmware, driver, operating system, and platform compatibility considerations.
• Experience working directly with OEM and software vendor support teams.
• Familiarity with Dell infrastructure solutions and enterprise data center environments.

Key Deliverables

• Azure Local lifecycle management plans for Dell AX environments.
• Documented procedures for Azure Local upgrades and maintenance activities.
• Current support matrices for Azure Local versions and Dell platforms.
• Vendor integration documentation and issue tracking.
• Recommendations related to future Microsoft Azure Local enhancements and platform improvements.
• Repeatable operational documentation supporting ongoing lifecycle management.
