Project Engineer - Manufacturing (Confidential) Location: Northern Indiana Industry: Food / Pet Food Type: Full-Time

gpac is partnered with a confidential food manufacturing company in Northern Indiana seeking a Project Engineer to support plant-level capital and process improvement projects.

This role focuses on equipment upgrades, capital installations, and continuous improvement within a high-volume production environment. The Project Engineer will work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement teams.

Responsibilities

Support capital and manufacturing projects from concept through completion

Manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines

Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, and startup

Work with vendors and contractors to execute projects safely and on time

Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste

Apply Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement tools

Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, HACCP, and company standards

Maintain project documentation and reporting

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

2-5 years of manufacturing or industrial project experience

Knowledge of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes

Experience supporting capital equipment installations

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Comfortable working in a hands-on plant environment

Preferred Experience

Food or pet food manufacturing

Lean or Six Sigma exposure

Automation, HMI, or SCADA familiarity

Vendor and contractor coordination
