EDM Operator | Charlotte, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $78,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire and sinker EDM.
• Load, align, and secure workpieces onto the machine according to specifications.
• Monitor machine operation, adjusting parameters and offsets to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain EDM fluid levels, filtration systems, and ensure general machine cleanliness.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code programs.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality inspection.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for machine setup, tooling adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, carbide) and their properties related to EDM processes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for manufacturing applications.
• Experience operating other precision CNC machinery (e.g., CNC milling, grinding).
• Familiarity with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
• Basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting skills for machine maintenance.
