Under the direction of a radiologist, performs diagnostic computerized tomography examinations at technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required. Primary Responsibilities:Positions patients and adjusts equipment for performing CT scans following established procedures and protocolsExplains procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scanUses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staffPerforms C.T. examinations as ordered. Uses CT scanner protocols based on needs of the individual patient and ordered examinationExamines digital CT images for properties such as density and contrast, definition, and motionAuthorizes release of patients upon completion of CT examinationMaintains and cleans examination rooms.
